Hendricks Named GNAC Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, Maine - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week.

Hendricks led Saint Joseph's with a 28:04 performance and placed seventh overall in the 8K UNE Invitational on Saturday. His time was the fastest by an SJC runner since Nick Shuckrow '17 posted a 27:34 effort in the NCAA Regionals on November 12th, 2016.

The weekly conference honor is a career-first for Hendricks, who also paced the Monks with a 17:52 time - good for fourth overall - in the SJC Early Bird 5K on Saturday, September 1st. Hendricks is the first St. Joe's men's cross country runner to garner Rookie of the Week honors since Lucas Fisher '18 was honored on November 10th, 2014.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the UMass.-Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday.
