    PROVIDENCE, RI – Sixth-seeded Saint Joseph’s College (37-10, 21-3 GNAC) fell to #4 Rhode Island College (38-12, 9-5 LEC), 7-4, in an elimination game of the NCAA DIII Softball Regional Tournament on Sunday morning. First baseman Alyssa Dunn ’11 (Standish, ME) went 3-3 with a two-run homer in the contest, which capped an historic four-game run at the NCAA’s for the Monks.

    PROVIDENCE, RI – Sixth-seeded Saint Joseph’s (37-8, 21-3 GNAC) upset #2 Coast Guard (37-3, 15-1 NEWMAC), 4-3, in game eight at the Providence Regional of the NCAA DIII Softball Tournament played at Rhode Island College on Friday afternoon. Freshman hurler Rae-Marie Copan (Newton, MA) allowed three runs off five hits in five innings to collect her eighth win of the season.

Freshman second baseman Connie Grovo (Limington, ME) led the Monks’ offensive attack by going 3-4 with two runs, a homer, and four RBI in the victory.

Bailey Field on Friday afternoon. Junior center fielder Emily Leverone (Hampton, NH) went 2-4 with a two-run homer in the victory.
