Saint Joseph's Places Third at Sunday River

NEWRY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College alpine skiing team finished third with a 4:37.38 aggregate time in a giant slalom race at Sunday Rivier on Saturday.

Bowdoin College won the event with a 4:23.03 total time, UMaine-Farmington was second (4:27.71), and UMaine-Orono finished fourth (4:40.21). Bowdoin's Elizabeth Scott claimed the individual crown with a 1:22.74 (41.73, 41.01) performance.

THE RUNDOWN:

  • Freshman Annie Cerminaro (Unityville, Pa.) finished fourth overall with a 1:25.06 time after placing third (43.03) on the first run and second (42.03) on the final leg
  • Freshman Jillian Luby (Wolfeboro, N.H.) was 14th with a 1:35.34 cumulative time and placed 10th (48.58, 46.76) in both runs
  • Sophomore Sarah Hotchkiss (New Durham, N.H.) placed 16th with a 1:36.98 time after finishing 12th (49.06) on the first run and 18th (47.92) on the second
  • Freshman Sarah Lachance (Auburn, Maine) was 18th with a 1:36.99 effort and placed 14th (49.63) on the first leg and 13th (47.36) on the second
  • Freshman Tucker Davis (South Berwick, Maine) placed 18th with a 1:32.27 total time after finishing 19th (47.50) on the first leg and 15th (44.77) on the second run

NEXT!

The Monks will host their first-ever event tomorrow with a giant slalom race at Shawnee Peak. The race is set to begin at 10:00 AM.
