SJC Alpine Ski Team Posts Pair of Third-Place Finishes in Season Finale

FARMINGTON, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College alpine skiing team wrapped up the 2020 regular season with a pair of third-place finishes at Titcomb Mountain on Sunday. The Monks posted a 3:23.72 composite time in the the first dual panal slalom event and a 3:24.71 combined score in the second dual panel slalom race.

UMaine-Farmington scored a pair of team victories with a 3:18.65 aggregate time in the first race and a 3:17.43 performance in the second event.  

In the first event, Bowdoin College was second (3:23.30) and UMaine-Orono finished fourth (3:33.78). Colby College's Katie Queally claimed top individual honors with a 1:03.94 (32.30, 31.64) total time.

In the second dual panel slalom race, Bowdoin finished second (3:20.61) and UMaine-Orono placed fourth (3:27.70). Queally earned her second title on the day with a 1:04.15 (32.17, 31.98) time.

THE RUNDOWN – FIRST DUAL PANEL SLALOM:

  • Freshman standout Annie Cerminaro (Unityville, Pa.) was the Monks' top individual finisher and placed third overall with a 1:04.92 (32.74, 32.18) effort
  • Freshman Jillian Luby (Wolfeboro, N.H.) finished seventh (1:07.56; 33.30, 34.26)
  • Sophomore Sarah Hotchkiss (New Durham, N.H.) placed 13th (1:11.24; 34.44, 36.80)
  • Freshman Sarah Lachance (Auburn, Maine) was 16th (1:12.24; 36.40, 35.84)
  • Freshman Tucker Davis (South Berwick, Maine) placed 20th on the men's side with a 1:09.38 (34.15, 35.23) time

THE RUNDOWN – SECOND DUAL PANEL SLALOM:

  • Cerminaro was fifth (1:05.54; 33.28, 32.26)
  • Luby placed sixth (1:07.28; 33.67, 33.61)
  • Lachance finished 22nd (1:11.89; 36.16, 35.73)
  • Hotchkiss posted a 24th-place finish (1:13.77; 36.98, 36.79)
  • Davis placed 24th with a 1:09.21 (34.66, 34.55) effort
