THE LEAD: The Emmanuel College Saint's solidified a major conference victory, 2-1, against the Monks of Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Wednesday evening at Roberto Clemente Field, as sophomore Kennedy Davignon (Woodstock, Conn.) recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Saints towards victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Saints started the offensive threats with two shots on goal by senior duo Natalie Dash (East Hampton, Conn.) and Abba McKenelley (Middleton, Mass.), with neither finding the back of the net, before Madison Michaud (Presque Isle, Maine) of the Monks attempted their first shot missing high halfway through the first period, 0-0.
• One more opportunity for the Saints came with less than six minutes remaining in the half as Dash raced on a breakaway, but Joe's goalie Adia Grogan (Kennebunk, Maine) made a sliding tackle to save the first period shutout, 0-0.
• EC was first to score in the sixty-first minute as freshman Jill Kutash (Mattapoisett, Mass.) rifled a shot into the net as teammates Kennedy Davignon (Woodstock, Conn.) and Kaylin Deschenes (Lynn, Mass.) recorded the assists, 1-0.
• Only fourteen minutes later, the Saints struck again as Davignon scored one of her own after sophomore Berlin Rodriguez (Cooper City, Fla.) laid the ball out ahead perfectly for the strike, 2-0.
• Despite a two goal deficit, the Monks kept pressing and scored their first goal of the night as Hailey Tarr (Eliot, Maine) deflected a ball past the Saints defense with the assist by Hannah Butler (Melrose, Mass.), chasing a goal with ten minutes left in regulation.
• The clock continued to run down as the Monks attempted to create an offensive threat, but the Saints pushed the ball to the corners to solidify the conference win, 2-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• The Saints won the evening in every offensive category, including a mismatched 11-5 shot discrepancy and a 5-2 shot on goal differential.
• Goalkeeper Grogan recorded three saves in her secondloss of the year, while senior Lexi Gawron (South Hadley, Mass.) recorded one save for the Saints.

• The Saints head back on the road to face non-conference in-state opponent Brandeis University on Saturday, September 28th at 1 PM.
• The Monks will be back in Boston on Saturday, September 28th to face GNAC foe Simmons University at 11 AM.
