    STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has released the 2011 All-Conference teams and Saint Joseph’s junior Sarah Hawkes (Pownal, Maine) has garnered Third Team honors for the second consecutive season.

    BOSTON, MA – The third-seeded Saints of Emmanuel College defeated the sixth-seeded Monks of Saint Joseph’s College, 3-1, in the quarterfinals of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday night. Senior outside hitter Jenna Ross (Centerburg, Ohio) slammed down 21 kills, including the 1,000th of her collegiate career, to lead the Saints past the Monks, 25-23, 22-25, 25-15, 25-19.

    STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph’s (18-11, 7-5 GNAC) suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Framingham State University (19-10, 5-1 MASCAC) in a non-conference volleyball match on Friday night. The Rams bested the Monks by scores of 26-24, 25-16 and 25-20.

    GORHAM, ME – Saint Joseph’s (18-10, 7-5 GNAC) toppled University of Southern Maine (0-21, 0-6 LEC), 3-0 (25-7, 25-7, 25-4), in a non-conference volleyball match on Thursday night. Sophomore Brooke Dyer (Lebanon, Maine/St. Thomas Aquinas) posted a spectacular .643 hitting percentage with nine kills and zero errors in 14 attacks in the win.

Emilee Penman ’15 (Uncasville, Conn.) paced the Monks with a match and career-high 17 kills in the victory.

Junior setter Kiah Begley (Berwick, Maine/St. Thomas Aquinas) tallied 19 assists and 11 digs in the losing effort.
