Freshman middle blocker Felicia Wachowiak (Milton, N.H.) tallied 23 kills and nine total blocks on the afternoon.

Saint Joseph's def. Southern Maine, 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-14)

St. Joe's seldom trailed in a convincing 3-0 victory over Southern Maine, as the Monks (.342) posted a considerable attack percentage advantage in a sweep against the Huskies (-.078). Wachowiak led the way with a match-high 14 kills and recorded five total blocks (4 solo, 1 assist) while senior Sarah Hawkes (Pownal, Maine) tallied nine kills and 11 digs and senior setter Kiah Begley (Berwick, Maine/St. Thomas Aquinas) produced 22 assists, eight digs and four service aces in the opener.

With the win, St. Joe's improves to 12-12 versus Southern Maine since the start of the 1991 campaign. The Monks have defeated the Huskies in eight consecutive meetings dating back to the 2009 season, with seven of the victories coming by way of the shutout.

Rhode Island College def. Saint Joseph's, 3-0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-19)

Wachowiak (9) and Hawkes (11) combined to register 20 kills but it would not be enough in three close setbacks against the host-Anchorwomen. Begley added 22 assists and six digs, Alli Hollander (Thermal, Calif.) chipped in with four kills and nine digs, and Erica Russi (Debary, Fla.) tallied seven digs and a pair of kills in the losing effort.

With the loss, Saint Joseph's falls to 1-5 against Rhode Island College since 1991. The Anchorwomen have defeated the Monks in five straight matches dating back to the 1991 campaign. Today's loss snaps the Monks' seven-game winning streak, the second-longest victory stretch in program history.

Saint Joseph's will host in-state rival University of New England on Monday evening at 6:00 PM. Hawkes and Begley, both four-year starters, will be honored with a Senior Recognition ceremony prior to the start of the match.
