WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – Eastern Connecticut State University (21-8) defeated Saint Joseph's College (7-18), 3-0, in a non-conference volleyball match on Sunday afternoon.
The Warriors opened with a 25-19 triumph, collected a 2-0 lead with a 25-20 victory, and clinched the shutout with a third-set 25-15 win.
Eastern Connecticut posted leads in kills (40-20), attack percentage (.167 - .039), assists (37-19), aces (10-4), and digs (54-50) on the afternoon.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Sophomore Olivia Kent (Ellington, Conn.) recorded six kills
- Senior Kelsey Bickford (Somersworth, N.H.) posted 15 digs
- Junior Madison Provencher (Rochester, N.H.) added 12 digs and two aces
- Junior Erin Olson (Stoughton, Mass.) delivered five kills
- Freshman Hanna Holden (Stoughton, Mass.) dealt 13 assists
LEADERS – EASTERN CONNECTICUT:
- Abby Stern tallied 16 kills, eight digs, and three service aces
- Anna Barry added 12 kills
- Sierra Orr and McKenzie Maneggia notched 16 assists apiece
