Dostie Wins Colby College Invitational

WATERVILLE, ME – Freshman runner Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) won the individual title and Saint Joseph's finished as the runner up with 41 team points in the 5K Colby College Invitational on Saturday.

Dostie toured the five kilometer course in 20:25, 25 seconds ahead of runner-up Anna Doyle of host Colby College, which placed five runners in the top seven en route to earning the team crown with 20 points.

Dostie has made quite an impact in just two races this fall, as the freshman finished as the runner-up – and the top DIII runner - with a 19:32 effort in the 5K Rivier College Invitational on September 23rd.

Thomas College placed third with 72 points, while Unity College participated but did not score in the event.  

 For Saint Joseph's, Sarah Cadorette '13 (Lyman, Maine) placed 8th (22:48), Ashley Condon '13 (Sumner, Maine) finished 10th (23:27), and Laura Mills '13 (Mattapoisett, Mass.) was 11th (23:48).

Audrey Curry '15 (Perry, Maine) (14th, 25:30), Lauren Tidd '13 (Walpole, N.H.) (15th, 26:24), Emily O'Connor '15 (Scarborough, Maine) (16th, 26:36), Melissa Deplanche '15 (Dover, N.H.) (17th, 26:42), Macy Pagurko '14 (Augusta, Maine) (21st, 28:10), and Rachel Sevigny '12 (Saco, Maine) (24th, 30:33) also participated in the event.

St. Joe's will host the Runnin' Monks Invitational next Saturday at 11:00 AM.
