Please share some of your favorite SJC memories - on and off the field:

Some of my favorite memories on the field: Golf - My last event at the NEIGA's where I shot my first sub-80 round and Coach Smyth joking with me after the round, "Garske, where was that the past four years?" Lacrosse - Scoring my first and only goal at Rivier, nearly tripping into the goalie crease and swinging my stick like a baseball bat. Hockey - Our home game senior year against UMF where we packed the USM Arena. The atmosphere was one of a kind and a great way to go out.

Some of my greatest memories off of the field: Being the last group to live and eventually retire Scully Hall my freshman year, Pod L (Poddle) my senior year, playing pond hockey with the boys, the lacrosse spring trips to New York and Maryland, and working in the athletics department in the SID office.

Notable performances as an SJC athlete (records, championships, individual accolades):

Golf - two year captain
Lacrosse - Member of the first team to make the postseason tournament (NAC Quarterfinals, 2009)
Hockey - two year captain

Where are you employed? Please tell us your job title, duties, how long you've been there, etc.:

Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Information Director at Fitchburg State University in Massachusetts. My duties include overseeing the athletics website, stats, and social media pages. I’m also the lead contact for local media outlets and contest scheduler. Prior to starting at Fitchburg State in September, I served as SID/Head Ice Hockey Coach at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine for former Saint Joseph's College Athletic Director David Roussel (now the Athletic Director at Thomas). I will always remember making my coaching debut versus the Monks!

What do you do for fun?

I try and stay active in sports playing on a men's league hockey team twice a week, skiing, and playing intramural's on the faculty/staff team. Other than that trying to get together with my college buddies as much as possible and spending summers at the beach in OOB.
