Please share some of your favorite SJC memories - on and off the field:

As a freshman, I remember travelling with the team and Coach McDevitt (yes, he coached volleyball too) up to Northern Maine (for the first time) in the SJC van, with coach driving and me riding shotgun. I kept asking him, "Are we there yet?" and he kept answering "no." Finally, after what seemed to be an eternity of time in the van, I asked one last time if we were there yet and coach said, "when you see the signs for Canada, we are almost there....but until then the answer will still be no!" I never knew the state of Maine was so big. Growing up in the city, anything more than a 30 minute drive was extremely long...after driving with Coach....anything under six hours is a short trip.

Notable performances as an SJC athlete (records, championships, individual accolades):

Our volleyball teams were always quite competitive in the WMAC for the four years that I played.

Where are you employed? Please tell us your job title, duties, how long you've been there, etc.:

I am a high school physical education/health teacher at Lynnfield High School (MA) where I am also the head volleyball coach. I have been teaching at LHS for 11 years and coaching for four. In the four years that I have been coaching we have advanced to the state tournament three times, winning the Division 3 North title last year. I was the Cape Ann League and Northeast Conference Coach of the Year for 2010, as well as the Boston Globe Coach of the Year (D3) for 2010. Currently, my team (Lynnfield Pioneers) is off to a 14-0 start to the 2011 season.

I also serve as the coach for the Andover Pumas 16’s, a junior Olympic team, and we finished fourth in New England last spring.

Thanks Coach McDevitt and SJC for the impact you have made in my career!!

What do you do for fun?

I travel quite a bit both here in the US and abroad. I enjoy attending the AVCA national coach's convention and watching the Women's Collegiate Volleyball Division 1 championships each year. Of course, I enjoy playing volleyball, reading, watching the Red Sox, and heading to the beach. Most importantly I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends.
