Please share some of your favorite SJC memories - on and off the field:

Some of my favorite memories include travelling to compete in Jamaica with the field hockey team, the inspirational speeches delivered by Coach Lewis before games, the post saving goals, driving the vans to games (and the time one finally broke down), coach’s Jamaican clock during practices/drills, the “terd” quadrant, meeting some great friends, Coach Lewis leading our team to numerous successes, and coming together as a family - are just a few memories that come to mind. And I can’t forget about Kids Night Out! Playing field hockey at Saint Joseph’s was one of the most memorable experiences throughout my time in college. Off the field I was active in the Political Science Club, World Affairs Council, Student Government and the Petersen Household.

Notable performances as an SJC athlete (records, championships, individual accolades):

The successes and accolades of my teammates and coach are numerous, and it was a great opportunity to play on such a successful team. We played in the NAC Championship in three of the four years in which I played. I earned several academic honors, including North Atlantic Conference All-Academic and National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Academic accolades, and was also selected as the team’s Most Improved Player in 2008.

Where are you employed? Please tell us your job title, duties, how long you've been there, etc.:

I am currently employed as staffer for United States Senator Susan Collins. I assist her constituents in regards to casework consisting of questions, comments or concerns they may have with federal issues and agencies. Some examples of the casework include Social Security benefits, veterans’ benefits, military service questions, Immigration issues, etc. In addition, I also do outreach in the greater York County area at various events and meetings on behalf of the Senator.

Following the completion of my Political Science Degree at Saint Joseph’s in 2012, I worked as a Field Director for the Romney-Ryan campaign in Boca Raton, FL. I managed the daily office operations in one of the Romney Victory Offices. My tasks included budgeting, scheduling volunteers for grassroots efforts and performing outreach events in my area. I also assisted in the volunteer coordination for the Final Presidential Debate at Lynn University and was able to be onsite at the debate.

After the campaign, I had an opportunity through Senator Susan Collins’ office to move to Washington, DC in January 2013. In May 2013, I moved up to Maine and am I still working for Senator Collins at her York County Constituent Service Center in Biddeford.

Please tell us about your family:

What do you do for fun?

For fun I like travel, go to concerts, hike, run and hang out with SJCME Alums. I am also still active with field hockey!
