25 Saint Joseph's Student-Athletes Honored at STAR Breakfast

STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College Athletics and Academic Advisory Committee recognized 25 fall sports athletes who demonstrate commitment to academics, athletics, and leadership through campus involvement with a STudent-Athlete Recognition (STAR) Breakfast on Thursday, December 8th.

To be honored, faculty members nominated student-athletes who possess a 3.0 GPA or higher and exemplify the college's core values on and off the field. 

"This event brought together coaches, athletics staff, and faculty to recognize what it means to be an athlete at SJC," adds Patricia Waters, Faculty Athletics Representative and Assistant Professor in the Education Department. "These students embody our core values and lead others by example as they balance both their academic and athletic commitments."

Founded in 1912 by the Sisters of Mercy in Portland, Maine, Saint Joseph’s College is Maine’s Catholic liberal arts college in the Mercy tradition. We are inclusive of all faiths, including no faith.
