Aylward & Stephens Sweep GNAC Baseball Weekly Honors

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and a pair of Saint Joseph's College baseball players have been honored.

Senior outfielder Kevin Aylward (East Bridgewater, Mass.) has been selected as the GNAC Baseball Player of the Week and freshman Luke Stephens (Glastonbury, Conn.) has been tabbed as the GNAC Pitcher and Rookie of the Week.

Aylward hit .471 (8-17) with six runs, a double, triple, home run, and five RBI during the Monks' first 10 games of the season. He currently sports a .824 SLG% and a .526 OBP.

Stephens almost single handedly lifted the Monks to a victory over Colby College on Sunday. The freshman righthander allowed one run off three hits and fanned six batters to pick up his first NCAA win and launched a three-run homer in the bottom of the third in the 6-1 triumph.

The weekly GNAC honor is a career-first for both Aylward and Stephens.

Saint Joseph's will play a single nine-inning game at Endicott College on Wednesday at 3:30 PM.
