Andy Theriault enters his first season as an assistant coach in 2022 after three seasons as an assistant coach at Plymouth State University.

After serving as pitching coach at Plymouth State, Theriault returns to his roots and will work primarily with the Monks’ catchers, as well as assisting with the hitters and baserunning. During his time at Plymouth State he saw his pitchers take home conference honors on three occasions.

A four year standout at Kingswood Regional High School in Wolfeboro, N.H. who graduated in 2005, Theriault was a two year captain, team MVP and First Team All-State Selection his senior year. He also excelled on the gridiron, capturing all-state honors as a defensive back in the fall of 2004.

Theriault initially attended Castleton in the fall of 2005. Unfortunately, an injury ended his playing career and he transferred to Southern New Hampshire University, where he majored in Business Administration.

Theriault began his coaching career in 2010 when he worked full time as a catching/hitting instructor while coaching travel teams based out of Chicago. During this stretch spanning two years, he spent the offseason training with Major League players and coached several future college baseball players.

In 2012, Theriault returned to New Hampshire and joined the Brewster Academy coaching staff. He was named as the head coach prior to the 2015 season and led a program that was very competitive in the northern New England prep circuit. While there, Theriault guided the Bobcats to a Lakes Region League Championship with three trips to the semifinal round of the tournament and a pair of New England Small School eight-team tournament berths.

In 2017, Theriault joined the collegiate summer coaching ranks as the pitching coach for the Brockton Rox of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). That summer, five Rox pitchers were named to the All-Star Game as Brockton finished the year leading the FCBL in ERA, batting average against, and shutouts while ranking second in WHIP and winning a league-best 32 games.

Theriault transitioned to the hitting coach role for the Rox in 2018 and that summer worked with five All-Stars, including MIT’s Matt Johnston, who garnered All-Star Game MVP honors. Brockton capped the season ranked in the top three in most major offensive categories, including batting average, OBP, slugging, and OPS.

Promoted to be Brockton’s manager in 2019, Theriault helped guide the Rox to one of the best seasons in team history that summer, as his squad posted the best record in the league. Seven Rox players were selected to play in the All-Star Game and Theriault was chosen to manage in the game. Brockton pitcher Nick Sinacola was voted as the league’s top pitching prospect and earned First Team All-League honors while three others claimed Second Team accolades.

2020 was another successful season in Brockton for Theriault. The Rox finished the summer with the third best record in the league and several players took home postseason honors, including Pitcher of the Year Nick Sinacola and Relief Pitcher of the Year Joey Walsh.

Coach Theriault currently resides in New Hampshire with his wife Corey and their twin daughters.
