Standish, ME - A goal by Melissa O'Donnell with just over ten
minutes to play made the difference yesterday, as Regis edged St.
Joe's 2-1 in field hockey.
First year Julia Ostrowski (Albany, NY) notched
her second goal of the season at 3:17 off a pass by junior
Darcey Ward (Dresden, ME) and gave the Monks a 1-0
lead.
O'Donnell put Regis (1-9) on the board, knotting the score with a
goal in the thirteenth minute. St. Joe's (3-5) held the advantage
in shots (17-2) and in penalty corners (17-3) but were unable to
stop O'Donnell's game winner at 59:02.
The Monks play at Southern Maine on Thursday, October 5, at 3:30
PM.
