Farmington Trumps St. Joe's, 2-0

FARMINGTON, Maine -- Andrea Tyler (Augusta, ME) netted a pair of goals as the University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team earned a 2-0 victory over St. Joseph's College in North Atlantic Conference action today at Prescott Field.

The Beavers improved to 6-4 overall and 4-0 in the NAC, while the Monks slipped to 5-2 (1-1).

Tyler got Farmington on the board at 17:36 with an unassisted marker in a back-and-forth opening half (shots were 15-8 in favor of Farmington) and followed with an insurance tally at 48:03 off a pass by Ashley Weeks (Wilton, ME). The Beavers finished with a 21-12 shot advantage and an 11-4 command in penalty corners.

Kaeleigh Barker (Chichester, NH) registered eight saves to record the shutout for the Beavers, who are scheduled to visit the nation's No. 1 team, Bowdoin College, on Wednesday.

Meaghan Johnson '12 (Portland, ME) made 15 stops in the loss.
