NASHUA, N.H. – Saint Joseph's College (9-2, 5-0 GNAC) defeated Rivier University (3-6, 2-3 GNAC), 2-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey contest on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks netted a pair of third-quarter goals to remain undefeated in conference play, as senior Meghan Hill (Brookline, N.H.) assisted on a tally scored by junior Alexa Gutowski (Conway, N.H.) at the 37:39 mark and hit pay dirt herself about three minutes later to account for the 2-0 final.
TEAM STATS:
Saint Joseph's held considerable advantages in shots (21-3), shots on goal (11-1), and penalty corners (20-0) in the GNAC victory.
THE KEEPERS:
SJC senior Isabella Anton (Mont Vernon, N.H.) turned away the only shot she faced in the triumph while Rivier netminder Katie Olsen posted nine saves in a losing effort.
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
With the win, Saint Joseph's remains undefeated with a perfect 12-0 record versus Rivier University.
