Rutledge Earns Second Player of the Week Accolade

The November 1st Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Field Hockey Player of the Week. Rutledge scored five goals and added a pair of assists for 12 total points in two wins last week. The senior forward notched two goals, including the 50th of her career, in a GNAC quarterfinal win over Lasell on Saturday.

Through 18 games this fall, Rutledge has 21 goals and 10 assists for 52 total points. The 2019 GNAC Player of the Year currently ranks first in the conference in goals, assists, and points and second in game-winners (4). This is only Rutledge's second conference award of the season.

In 61 career games, Rutledge has scored 53 goals with 33 assists for 135 points. With her first goal scored on Saturday against Lasell in the GNAC Quarterfinal, Rutledge became the third player in SJC field hockey history to score 50 career goals. Only two players, Libby Pomerleau '20 (65) and Kayla Nowell '11 (57) have scored more goals during their SJC career.

Saint Joseph's will travel to Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday in the GNAC Semifinals slated to start at 4:00 PM.
