Rutledge Listed on 2021 NFHCA DIII Senior Team

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Team has been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior forward Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) is one of 60 players from around the country to be selected for the honor.

All six NCAA Division III regions are represented on the list of 2021 honorees. The selected student-athletes were nominated by their NFHCA member coach and were chosen based on their career accomplishments. The members of the 2021 Division III Senior Team were initially announced during a live video presentation featuring member coaches on Monday afternoon. In lieu of the traditional coach-led trophy presentation at the NFHCA Senior Games — which were canceled due to limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic — coaches were given the opportunity to announce the name of their Senior Team honoree(s).

A three-time First Team All-Conference selection, Rutledge enjoyed her finest season this fall with career-highs in goals (21), points (52), and game-winning goals (5)

One of the most skilled forwards in the team's 28-year history, the 2018 GNAC Rookie of the Year and 2019 GNAC Offensive Player of the Year netted 53 goals with 33 assists for 139 points and scored 12 game-winners in 63 career games. She finished her career ranked second in team history in assists and third in goals, points, and game-winning goals.

Rutledge is the fourth Saint Joseph's player – and second field player - to be listed on the NFHCA Division III Senior Team roster. Former teammate Libby Pomerleau '20 and goalkeepers Megan Baker '19 and Meaghan Johnson '12 also earned the national honor following their respective senior seasons.
