Waryas Claims Third GNAC Rookie Honor

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman Maya Waryas (Bellows Falls, Vt.) has been named as the GNAC Field Hockey Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive week and third time overall this season.

Waryas tied a team record and provided half of the Monks' scoring output with six goals in a 12-0 victory over Dean College on Saturday.

Through 18 games this season, Waryas has scored 21 goals with three assists for 45 total points with six game-winning tallies. She currently leads the team in goals, points and game-clinchers and ranks second in the GNAC in shots (104) and game-winners and fourth in both goals and points.

Saint Joseph's (11-7, 8-2 GNAC) will cap the regular season with a conference contest at Lasell University on Wednesday at 5:00 PM.
