CASCO, ME - Host-team Saint Joseph's College earned a
sixth-place finish in the John Queenan Memorial Golf Tournament
played at the Point Sebago Golf Resort on Tuesday with a team score
of 335. Senior Andy LeConte
(York, ME) achieved the best score for host -team Saint Joseph's
with a 77 on the day, good for ninth place.
Husson University won the tournament on with a team score of 299,
10 strokes ahead of runner-up University of Southern Maine. Four
Eagles finished in the top six for the day, as Chris Hamel (74),
Mike Hersey (74), John Ellis (75) and Josh Gallagher (76) helped
pave the way for the tourney title. Hamel takes home Medalist
honors after comparing scorecards with his teammate Hersey.
The Monks will hit the links again on Sunday, September 21st when
they play in the two-day Southern Maine Fall Classic at the Sable
Oaks Golf Course in South Portland, ME.
