Saint Joseph's Finishes Third at UMaine-Farmington Invitational

WATERVILLE, Maine – Saint Joseph's College finished third with a 315 team card in the UMaine-Farmington Invitational at the Waterville Country Club on Sunday afternoon.

Thomas College posted a 305 collective score to claim top team honors while Husson University finished second with a 311 card. University of New England placed fourth (316) and Colby College was fifth while Southern Maine (322), UMaine-Farmington (337), Maine Maritime (344), and UMaine-Presque Isle (367) also participated in the tourney.

Four players tied for Medalist honors, as SJC senior Trevor Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine), Miles Kirby and Kent Johnson from Thomas, and Husson's Jack King all shot a 75.

FOR THE MONKS:

  • Sophomore Drew Mathieu (Windham, Maine) tied for ninth with a 77 score
  • Sophomore Devin Coonradt (Methuen, Mass.) tied for 15th with a 79
  • Senior Sean McDonough (Concord, N.H.) finished tied for 24th (84)
  • Sophomore Alex Beecher (South Portland, Maine) also tied for 24th (84)

Saint Joseph's will play in the 36-hole Bowdoin College Invitational at the Brunswick Golf Club next weekend.
