St. Joe's Places 13th at Bowdoin College Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Saint Joseph's College placed 13th with a 653 (339-314) team card in the 36-hole Bowdoin College Invitational held at the Brunswick Golf Club this weekend.

Sitting in 14th with a 339 score after the first 18 holes, the Monks shaved 25 strokes off their day-two tally and moved up one place in the tournament standings. Sophomore Devin Coonradt (Methuen, Mass.) led the turnaround with an 81 card, which was 18 strokes lower than his day-one performance.

Endicott College topped the 15-team field with a 10 over-par 607 (309-298) composite score, two strokes better than Amherst College and Trinity College as the two NESCAC programs tied for second with identical 609 (310-299) performances. Bowdoin (616, 307-309) and Tufts University (622, 313-309) rounded out the top five competing programs.

Three golfers tied for the Medalist title, as Nicholas Li (Trinity), Tyler Baker (Endicott) and Mauro Stanchieri (Suffolk) turned in four over-par 148 cards.

FOR THE MONKS:

  • Sophomore Drew Mathieu (Windham, Maine) tied for 11th with a 153 (79-74) card
  • Senior Trevor Flanagan (Monmouth, Maine) finished tied for 22nd with a 156 (78-78) score
  • Senior Sean McDonough (Concord, N.H.) tied for 65th (170, 89-81)
  • Sophomore Devin Coonradt (Methuen, Mass.) was 72nd (178, 97-81)
  • Sophomore Alex Beecher (South Portland, Maine) tied for 76th (185, 93-92)
