Women Win, Men Place Second at Sunday River

NEWRY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College alpine ski teams posted another fine showing in United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) Reynolds Division action at Sunday River on Saturday. The SJC women won their fifth event of the season with 10 place points and a 4:32.50 total time while the men placed second with 18 points and a 3:43.02 composite time.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Sophomore Erica Irvin (Windham, N.H.) placed second overall with a 1:28.02 (44.55, 43.47) total time
  • Freshman Madelyn Zordan (New Hartford, Conn.) finished third with a 1:29.78 (45.30, 44.48) effort
  • Senior Sarah Hotchkiss (New Durham, N.H.) was eighth with a 1:34.70 (47.48, 47.22) performance
  • Sophomore Courtney Pingree (Marblehead, Mass.) placed 12th (1:41.89, 1:00.14 – 41.85)
  • Freshman Lillian Souweine (Bangor, Maine) was 15th (1:43.55, 52.73 – 50.82)
  • Sophomore Maeghan Perkins (Turner, Maine) posted an 18th-place finish (1:46.53, 59.40 – 47.13)

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Sophomore Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) notched his third individual win of the season with a 1:09.83 (34.87, 34.96) time
  • Sophomore Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) finished eighth with a 1:15.68 (38.12, 37.56) performance
  • Sophomore Aidan Wolfinger (Bedford, N.H.) was ninth (1:17.51, 38.79 – 38.72)
  • Freshman Jacob Morris (North Woodstock, N.H.) placed 12th (1:20.50, 43.56 – 36.94)
