SJC Men Win at Pats Peak, Notch Fifth Victory of the Season

HENNIKER, N.H. – The Saint Joseph's College men's alpine ski squad earned their fifth win of the season with eight team points and a 3:97.18 aggregate time in a slalom race at Pats Peak on Saturday.

The Monks placed two of the top three finishers, as junior Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) notched his third victory of the season – and 13th of his college career – with a 1:30.47 (44.95, 45.52) time and freshman Logan Davis (Naples, Maine) placed third with a 1:33.23 (46.79, 46.44) performance.

UMaine-Farmington placed second with 16 points and a 4:02.68 total time. Senior Simon Spear paced the Beavers and finished second with a 1:31.82 effort.

THE RUNDOWN:

  • Junior Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.) notched his third victory of the season – and 13th of his college career – with a 1:30.47 (44.95, 45.52) time
  • Freshman Logan Davis (Naples, Maine) placed third with a 1:33.23 (46.79, 46.44) performance to claim his third podium finish of the season
  • Freshman Jack Price (Franconia, N.H.) was fourth with a 1:33.48 (45.77, 47.71) effort
  • Freshman Colin Rathbone (Groton, Mass.) finished sixth (1:34.66, 47.27 – 47.39)
  • Sophomore Jacob Morris (Woodstock, N.H.) placed seventh (1:35.33, 47.71 – 47.62)
  • Sophomore Dimitri Southworth (Biddeford, Maine) was 26th (2:07.25, 1:10.95 – 56.10)
  • Junior Caleb Gorton (Goffstown, N.H.) had the fourth-fastest time (45.98) on the first run but posted a DNF on the second
  • Junior Aidan Wolfinger (Bedford, N.H.) and freshman Jacob Gilmore (Naples, Maine) posted 50.12 and 1:08.57 times on the first run, respectively, but did not finish the second stint

Saint Joseph's will host a giant slalom race at Pleasant Mountain next Saturday at 10:00 AM.
