Curtis Becomes 43rd Member of Monks' 1,000-Point Club

STANDISH, Maine – Senior guard Nicholas Curtis (Windham, Maine) became the 43rd member of the Saint Joseph's College men's basketball 1,000-Point Club late in the first half in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) home contest versus Norwich University on Saturday, January 15th.

Curtis entered the contest versus the Cadets seven points shy of the milestone and hit the mark on the nose when he connected for a three-pointer with 3:48 left in the first half. Senior guard Griffin Foley (Portland, Maine) was credited with the assist on the play.

One of the most prolific three-point shooters in program history, Curtis currently ranks third in the SJC men's basketball record book in three-point percentage (.421), fifth in trifectas made (213), and sixth in three-point field goal attempts (506). He also ranks second – behind former teammate Jack Casale '21 (2.92) – in team history in three-pointers made per game (2.88).

In 74 career contests, Curtis has scored 1,022 points with 212 rebounds, 206 assists, and 88 steals while shooting 46.8% (349-745) from the field, 42.1% (213-506) from downtown, and 78.2% (111-142) from the free-throw line.

In 15 games this winter, the senior captain is averaging 20.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists with shooting percentages of 42.7% (99-232), 36.5% (57-156), and 81.8% (45-55) from the floor, beyond the arc, and the FT line, respectively.

Through January 19th, Curtis leads the GNAC in three-pointers made and steals (28), second in points (300) and minutes per game (33.9), third in free throws made (45) and scoring average (20.0 PPG), and fifth in field goals made (99) and FT% (81.8%).

Among all active NCAA DIII men's basketball players, Curtis ranks 14th in career three-pointers made per game (2.88), 19th in three-point percentage (.421), and 22nd in three-pointers made (213).

Curtis joins former teammates Casale (1,581 pts), Ian Mileikis '19 (1,262), and Darian Berry '19 (1,275) in the Monks' 1,000-Point Club.
