STANDISH, Maine – The 2022 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® men's soccer teams have been released and three Saint Joseph's College players have been honored.
Grad students Kyle Cocciardi (Manchester, N.H.) and Jacob Rockwood (Hopkinton, N.H.) and senior Jarred Greenleaf (Scarborough, Maine) have been recognized for achieving academic excellence. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore status, be a starter or major contributor, and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
Cocciardi, who graduated last May with a degree in Business & Sports Management, is currently enrolled in the college's Master of Business Administration graduate program. This fall he played and started in all 17 of the Monks' games and, as a midfielder, netted a goal with an assist for three total points.
Rockwood, who also his degree in Business & Sports Management and is enrolled in the college's MBA program, played in all 19 of the Monks' games and made 18 starts as a midfielder this fall. He was credited with an assist and recorded 14 shots during his final NCAA season.
An Exercise Science/Sport Performance Specialist major, Greenleaf notched an assist while playing in 18 games with 17 starts as a senior defender.
The 2022 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America, or CoSIDA), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams can be found using the link below.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
