Saint Joseph's Kicks Off Season Versus Colby-Sawyer

STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College women's swim team opened the 2021-22 season with a head-to-head matchup with Colby-Sawyer College at the Harold Alfond Center Pool on Friday evening. The Chargers defeated the Monks by a 139-104 tally.

The SJC men also competed in exhibition action, as Colby-Sawyer did not field a men's swimmer in the kick-off event.

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Alirose Beauregard (Dover, N.H.) topped the field in the 50-Back (32.14), 50-Free (27.57)
  • Sophomore Brooke Podsiadlo (Granby, Mass.) won the 1000-Free (12:48.06) and 500-Free (6:03.09)
  • Freshman Tiffany Twombly (Sanford, Maine) won the 200-Free (2:16.72) and placed second in the 100-Back (1:08.21)
  • Sophomore Ashley Thompson (Granby, Conn.) placed second in the 50-Breast (38.40) and 100-Breast (1:25.59) events and was fourth in the 100-IM (1:22.11)
  • Sophomore Rylie Perron (Wells, Maine) finished third in the 50-Free (31.93) and 50-Fly (38.16)
  • Freshman Kiley Matthews (South Portland, Maine) placed first in the 100-Free (57.99) and was third in the 100-Fly (1:09.13)
  • Sophomore Eliza Nadeau (Raymond, Maine) was fourth in the 200-Free (2:44.84) and 100-Back (1:28.81) and fifth in the 50-Fly (41.36)
  • Senior Hannah Kibbin (Augusta, Maine) finished fourth in the 100-Breast (1:31.27) and 50-Fly (39.19) and was fifth in the 50-Breast (40.92)
  • Matthews, Beauregard, Podsiadlo, and Twombly won the 200-Free relay (1:47.86)
  • Podsiadlo, Twombly, Matthews, and Beauregard finished second in the 200-Medley relay with a 2:02.23 time
  • Kibbin, Thompson, Perron, and Nadeau raced to a third-place finish in the 200-Medley relay (2:28.25)
