Benson Earns GNAC Track Athlete of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior James Benson (Gorham, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

Benson won the triple jump with a team-record 12.73 effort and broke another team mark with a third-place finish, and 6.54m performance, in the long jump at Southern Maine on Saturday. The senior also placed sixth with a 6.78 time in the 55-meter dash. The long jump mark is tops in the GNAC and second in DIII New England.

Saint Joseph's returns to action on Saturday, January 8th with another appearance at University of Southern Maine.
