Monks Cap Indoor Season at New England Regionals

STANDISH, Maine - The Saint Joseph's College Men's and Women's Track teams participated in NCAA DIII New England's this weekend. The ladies traveled up to Colby College while the men trekked their way over to Middlebury College in Vermont.

The women's meet came down to the wire with Williams taking the first-place team finish with 101 points just half a point a head of runner ups Tufts (100.5 pts). For the men, MIT ran away with it finishing with 152 points in front of Williams' 69 points.

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Sophomore Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) placed nineth in the 400 Meter Dash with a 51.73 mark
  • Senior James Benson (Gorham, Maine) placed 19th in the Long Jump with a 6.17m effort 

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Samantha VanDeMoere (Thornton, N.H.) placed 16th in the 800 Meter Run (2:33.28)
  • Carly Jordan, Emma Allen, Samantha VanDeMoere, Caitlin Kendrick participated in the Distance Medley Relay with a finishing time of 14:22.20 for a 20th place finish

The Monks will be back at it in their 2022 Outdoor Season debut at Bridgewater State on March 26th.
