BOSTON, M.A. – The Saint Joseph's College Indoor Track and Field teams shipped off to Boston for the Suffolk University Ice Breaker Invitational. The Rams hosted the meet at the new state-of-the-art New Balance Center better known as "the TRACK at New Balance". The Monks were one of four division III teams in attendance out of the 16 competitors but that didn't stop the Monks from gathering eight top-ten finishes between both teams.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
- Freshman Abdirizak Abukar (Lewiston, Maine) placed sixth in the 400 Meter Dash with a mark of 50.62 (just .17 seconds from the program record of 50.45)
- Junior Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) cruised in for a 51.60 effort in the 400 Meter Dash garnering 12th place
- Sophomore Tyler Ricker (Montpelier, Vt.) set a new indoor personal best in the 400 Meter Dash clocking in at 53.51 placing 15th overall
- Junior Wesley Hundley (Kennebunk, Maine) had a day for himself in the Shot Put with a personal best of 11.11m placing 17th
- Sophomore Ryan Graham (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed 18th with a well-earned personal best of 2:07.70 in the 800 Meter Run.
- Senior Devin Abbott (Berwick, Maine) is on a roll this season with a new personal best in the 3000 Meter Run finishing with a time of 9:30.59 (20th Overall) which puts him more than a minute faster than his recorded 3000 Meter Run during the 2021 season (10:35.64 – 12/11/21)
- Grad student Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) placed 20th overall with a time of 2:47.05 shaving ten seconds off his season best
- Freshman Seth Quinney (Northwood, N.H.) placed 27th overall in the Shot Put with a mark of 8.51m
- Sophomore Jesse Tidd (Portland, Maine) sprinted his way to a 26.52 finish in the 200 Meter Dash for 28th overall
- Troy Hendricks, Nicholas Carmosino, Ryan Graham, and Devin Abbott banded together for a fourth-place finish in the Distance Medley Relay clocking in at 11:43.18
- Ryan Farr, Tyler Ricker, Nicholas Carmosino, and Abdirizak Abukar also snagged a fourth-place finish with a 3:37.02 in the 4x400 Meter Relay
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- Junior Aaliyah WilsonFalcone (Winthrop, Maine) with a jump hop and a skip WilsonFalcone gathered a sixth-place finish in the Triple Jump
- Junior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) placed 7th overall with a prelim time to break her personal best of 9.77 for seventh place. Goff also jumped for an eighth-place finish in the High Jump (1.45m)
- Sophomore Terry Cassetta (Sandy Hook, Conn.) placed ninth overall with a huge 3000 Meter Run personal best of 14:15.30
- Freshman Paige Sawyer (Ellsworth, Maine) also placed ninth with a personal best in the 60 Meter Hurdles clocking in at 9.92
- Abby O'Brien (Gorham, Maine) danced her way to a new Weight Throw personal best with a 10.32m mark for 22nd overall
- Kimberly Moulton (Franklin, Mass.) tossed the Weight for an 11.54 mark with an 18th-place finish
- Sophomore Kate Luiz (Pittston, Maine) paced in for a 31.08 in the 200 Meter Dash (27th overall)
- Freshman MacKenzie Howard (Kennebunk, Maine) launched the Shot Put for a 6.92m mark collecting 32nd
- Sophomore Sarah Joe (Londonderry, N.H.) landed a 5.90m throw in the Weight for 29th place
