WilsonFalcone, Abukar & Hundley Earn GNAC Accolades

STANDISH, Maine - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and three Saint Joseph's College indoor track & field athletes have claimed accolades.

Junior Aaliyah WilsonFalcone (Winthrop, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Women's Field and Rookie of the Week, Abdirizak Abukar (Lewiston, Maine) has earned GNAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week honors, and junior Wesley Hundley (Kennebunk, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week.

WilsonFalcone takes home GNAC top rookie honors for the third-consecutive week after placing sixth behind four D1 participants - in the Triple Jump with a 10.54m effort at the Suffolk University Ice Breaker Invitational on Saturday. Her double honor this week is her second of the season.

Abukar earns the second GNAC Rookie of the Week award of his young career after placing sixth - behind four D1 runners - in the 400 Meter Dash with a 50.62 time - just .17 seconds off the SJC record - at the Ice Breaker Invitational. Abukar also helped the SJC 4x400 Meter Relay team place fourth with a 3:37.02 time.

Hundley posted an 11.11m effort and placed 17th overall in the Shot Put at the Ice Breaker Invitational on Saturday. His performance was the top heave among D3 athletes in the event, which featured a handful of D1 programs, and the best Shot Put effort in the GNAC so far this season. The weekly conference honor is the first of Hundley's college career.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the Plymouth State University Invitational on Saturday.
