GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships Coaches Poll Released

ORDER OF EVENTS

WINTHROP, Mass. – Regis (Mass.) is set to host the inaugural Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Sunday, April 29 at Regis Stadium, with events getting underway at 10:00 AM from Weston, Mass. The event will feature the GNAC's five track & field programs: Emmanuel College, Lasell College, Regis (Mass.), Saint Joseph's College of Maine and Suffolk University.

The event will also feature the five track & field programs from the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC), as Elms, Lesley, Newbury, Southern Vermont and Wheelock are set to compete. While there will be a true GNAC Champion for both genders, the top-scoring team among the 10 programs on each side will be crowned with the 2018 Inter-Conference Cup trophy.

Regis Athletics plans to broadcast a live stream of the event, which can be viewed at thegnac.tv or on one of the GNAC's four custom digital streaming apps. There will also be live stats for the event. Be sure to follow @TheGNAC and @GoRegisPride on Twitter for additional updates.

Following a vote by the league's five head coaches, the Regis (Mass.) men and Emmanuel College women have been tabbed the favorites for the GNAC Championships, as the Pride garnered three first-place votes and 23 points on the men's side and the Saints got the same three first-place nods and 23 points on the women's end. For the complete poll results, please see below.

The Regis Stadium facility boasts a 400-meter, 8-lane, synthetic track. It also has synthetic approaches for its javelin, pole vault, high jump, long jump and triple jump areas. Spectator areas will be designated for all throwing events.

The top GNAC finisher in each event will automatically earn 2018 All-Conference honors, and an event ceremony honoring the team champions and individual GNAC winners will take place following the conclusion of competition.
