ON THIS DATE: Monks Compete in Maine State Championship

On February 7th, 2015 the Saint Joseph's College men's track and field program placed fifth with 12 points in the 2015 Maine State Indoor Championship, which was hosted by Bates College. 

The women placed sixth with 15 points in the State Championship.

NOTEWORTHY

  • Sophomore Calvin Field (Windham, Maine) broke team records in the high jump (1.93m) and long jump (5.91m) and placed fourth and 11th in the events, respectively
  • Senior Faisal Abdillahi (Lewiston, Maine) finished fifth in the 400-Meter with a 52.48 time and also posted a 13th-place effort in the 200-Meter (24.20)
  • The Monks' 4x400 relay team set a new team record with a 3:45.18 and finished fourth overall
  • Senior Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) broke the team record with a 10:52.97 effort in the 3000-Meter, a time that was good for third overall
  • The Monks' 4x400 relay squad placed fifth with a team-record 4:48.78 performance
  • Sophomore Rachel Calden (Jay, Maine) tied the team record with a 4.22m effort in the long jump and placed 18th in the event
