On February 16th, 2020 Saint Joseph's College finished as the runner-up in the 2020 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship at Boston University. The Monks tallied 116 points, just three off the lead total posted by champion Suffolk University, in the first-ever indoor championship in GNAC history.
Freshman Simon Vinci (Peabody, Mass.) garnered All-Conference honors after winning the Shot Put with a 13.87m distance and five team records fell in the title meet. Junior Lance Santeusanio III (North Berwick, Maine) set a pair of records with new top marks in the Long Jump (6.11m) and Triple Jump (12.30m), sophomore Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) broke his own team records in the 1-Mile run (4:30.85) and 5000-Meter run (16:03.66), and sophomore Tyler Nadeau (Farmingdale, Maine) broke the 60-Meter dash record with a 7.25 time.
NOTEWORTHY
- Freshman Ricky Reyes (Worcester, Mass.) added 12 points with third-place efforts in the 800-Meter run (2:03.68) and High Jump (1.65m)
- Senior Alex Fitzgerald (Lebanon, Maine) finished third in the Triple Jump (12.21m) for six points
- Junior Michael Mason (East Bridgewater, Mass.) was fourth in the 800-Meter run (2:04.39) and sixth in the 400-Meter dash (52.65) for five total points
- Sophomore Jacob Huberdeau (Atkinson, N.H.) added five points after placing fourth in the 3000-Meter run (9:25.76) and sixth in the Pole Vault (2.50m)
