SJC Men & Women Finish Third at Second Home Meet

STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College outdoor track & field teams competed in their final home meet at the Saint Joseph's College Athletics Complex on Saturday. Both the Men and Women's Teams placed third with 117 points for the women and 98 for the men. The running events were hosted at Saint Joseph's while University of Southern Maine hosted the throwing events.

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Senior captain Michael Mason (East Bridgewater, Mass.) placed second in the 400m dash (53.70) 
  • Senior Anthony Blatus (Dracut, Mass.) finished second in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 46.56m and finished fifth in the Hammer throw with a distance of 21.38m
  • Sophomore Simon Vinci (Peabody, Mass.) placed first in the Hammer throw (39.70m), second in the discus (39.07), and sixth in the Javelin (32.75m)
  • Junior captain Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) placed fourth in the 1500 breaking his previously held school record with a time of 4:16.01
  • Freshman Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) placed second in the 200m dash (23.18) and fourth in the 100m dash (11.66)  
  • Sophomore Ashtyn Abbott (Farmingdale, Maine) jumped to a third-place finish in the high jump (1.86m) 
  • Freshman Nick Carmosino (Acton, Mass) placed third in the 800m run with a 2:11 finish
  • Junior Cameron Rice cruised in for a fourth-place finish in the 800m clocking in at 2:21.8
  • Senior Brandon Whitlock battled in the 400m finishing in seventh (1:02.26)
  • Mason, Carmosino, Abbott, Hendricks finished second in the 4 x 800 Relay (9:00)
  • Farr, Nadeau, Hundley, Burns placed third in the 4 x 100 Relay (45.87)

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Sophomore Kelsey Kennedy (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) dominated the 1500m placing first with a time of 5:17.97 she also placed fourth in the 800m (2:32.7)
  • Junior captain Samantha VanDeMoere warmed up the arm this meet placing fourth in the Javelin throw (20.71m) and then came around for a second-place finish in the 400m (1:06.84) and placed seventh in the 200m (30.78) 
  • Junior Kaylee Todisco (Wilmington, Mass.) ran for a third-place finish in the 100m dash (13.59) and finished fourth in the 200m (28.47)
  • Emma Allen (Jefferson, Maine) placed second in the 5000m run with a time of 22:56
  • Freshman Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) raced for a first-place finish flying over the 400m hurdles (1:12.29) and a third-place finish in the 100 Hurdles (17.50) and jumped 1.48m in High Jump for fifth 
  • Junior Julia Heroux (Albion, R.I.) placed third in the 1500m (5:27)
  • Freshman Hanna Roy (Auburn, Maine) finished fifth in the 200m Dash (30.08)
  • Sophomore Kimberly Moulton (Franklin, Mass.) placed third in the Shot put (9.14m), eighth in Discus (22m) and ninth in the Hammer Throw (21.22m)
  • Senior Cassidy Lee (Sullivan, Maine) placed fifth in the Triple Jump (8.73m) and eighth in the long jump (4.09m)
  • Freshman Abby O'Brien (Gorham, Maine) placed third in Discus (28.5m) sixth in (8.36m) eighth in the High Jump (22.96m) and tenth in the Shot put (7.02)
  • Junior captain Julie Unczur placed third in the Javelin Throw (22.28), threw for seventh in Shot Put (7.98m), jumped for a nineth place finish in the Long Jump (3.84m), and tenth in the 100m (16.02)
  • Robertson-McIntire, Roy, Todsico, and Hoffman placed first in the 4 x 100 Relay (51.69)
  • Roy, Colson, Glisson, and Hoffman placed fifth in the 4 x 400 Relay (5:00)
  • VanDeMoere, Jordan, Kennedy, and Heroux won the 4 x 800 Relay (11:14.53)
