Benson Earns GNAC Athlete of the Week Honor

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior James Benson (Gorham, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

Competing in the UNH Invitational on Saturday, Benson placed third in the Long Jump with a team-record 6.35m mark and took fifth in the 100 Meter Dash with an NCAA qualifying 11.16W time.

For Benson, the GNAC weekly accolade is the second of his career as he was previously named as the GNAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week on December 13th.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the Jim Sheehan Invitational at Fitchburg State University on Saturday.
