Monks close out season at DIII New England Championships

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College outdoor track & field teams traveled to Mount Holyoke Friday and Saturday for the New England Division III Track and Field Championships. The men placed twenty-second out of the 34 teams while the women placed 33rd out of 36 teams.
 
The men collected 14 points to tie with Fitchburg State.  MIT won the team title with 108.5 points while Tufts (78.5) was second and Bowdoin (64) third. The women finished the day with 3 points. MIT also won the team title for the women with 141.5 points while Middlebury placed second (54) and Bowdoin followed with 45 points for third.

FOR THE RECORD:

  • Freshman Audrey Bilodeau (Lewiston, Maine) broke her previously held record in the 400-meter hurdles with her 1:06.40 mark to finish off the weekend
  • Freshman Younton Diamond Doe (Pawtucket, R.I.) set a new Monks Best in the 400-meter dash with a 49.05
  • Freshman Tudum Monday (Lewiston, Maine) bested his previous program record in the 400-meter Hurdle with a 56.93 finish
  • McManus, Graham, Corriveau, and Ramadan etched their 8:07.57 4x800 relay finish into the St. Joe's record book
  • Doe, Ricker, Farr, Schmader set a program best in 4x400 relay with a time of 3:19.53
  • Doe, Abukar, Farr, and Ricker crusied to a 4x100 relay record with a 42.69 finish

THE RUNDOWN - MEN:

  • Freshman Younton Diamond Doe (Pawtucket, R.I.) placed fourth overall in the 400-meter dash with a 49.05 effort
  • Sophomore Abdirizak Abukar (Lewiston, Maine) placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a 22.08 mark
  • Junior Dylan Dickey (Laconia, N.H.) finished eighth in the Javelin throw with a 55.70m (182'9") heave
  • Senior Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) ran for an eleventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a finishing time of 22.23
  • Freshman Tudum Monday (Lewiston, Maine) finished the weekend off with a new personal best and program record in his 400-meter Hurdle attempt. Monday placed fourteenth overall with a 56.93 finish
  • Freshman Jacob Schmader (Limington, Maine) set a new college personal best with his 50.39 400-meter run effort to place nineteenth overall
  • Doe, Ricker, Farr, and Schmader finished fourth in their 4x400 relay with a time of 3:19.53
  • Doe, Abukar, Farr, and Ricker placed eleventh in the 4x100 relay crossing the finish in 42.69
  • McManus, Graham, Corriveau, and Ramadan crossed the finish line in 8:07.57 to finish thirteenth overall in the 4x800 relay

THE RUNDOWN - WOMEN:

  • Senior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) finished sixth in the heptathlon with a score of 3828
  • Freshman Audrey Bilodeau (Lewiston, Maine) placed eleventh in the 400-meter hurdles with her 1:06.40 mark and seventeenth
  • Huntley, Bilodeau, Cowan, and Smart finished thirteenth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 51.86
  • Smart, Huntley, Cowan, and Bilodeau placed seventeenth in the 4x400 relay to clock in at 4:26.10
