SJC Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The men's and women's All-Academic Teams for the 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country season were announced on Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) and both Saint Joseph's College teams have claimed the honor.

The USTFCCCA presents All-Academic honors to student-athletes and teams that excel in the classroom and in the arenas, courses, and stadiums in which they compete. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers.

Saint Joseph's, led by Head Coach Tom Dann, is the only Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) program – and one of just 25 from New England -  to have both teams earn the high academic honor.

Each division has specific criteria for qualification. In general, cumulative GPA and competition standards must be met for student-athletes and/or teams-in-the-whole to be honored.

The USTFCCCA presents these awards in cross country and track & field. For All-Academic purposes, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field are considered on a combined basis.
