St. Joe's Men's Cross Country team competes at Maine State Championship

BANGOR, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's cross country team competed in the Maine State Championship on Saturday hosted by Husson University at Saxl Park. 

Bates College topped the 11-team field with 24 points while Colby College placed second with 36 points and Bowdoin College was third with 92 points. University of Southern Maine (130) and Maine Maritime Academy (157) rounded out the top five teams on the men's side.

Tyler Morris of Colby won the race with a 24:15.3 time, thirty-four seconds ahead of runner-up Eli Boesch Dining of Bates.

Grad student Troy Hendricks paced the Monks with a 27:18.2 time for 46th overall. Junior Nick Carmosino (Acton, Mass.) and Sophomore Ethan Shaw (Scarborough, Maine) followed in behind Hendricks. Carmosino finished 84th with a time of 29:56.9. Shaw paced it out for a personal best of 30:11.9 (86th).
