FORT MYERS, FL - Saint Joseph 's College (5-4) lost to Cedarville 10-2 in a night game at the Lee County Sports Complex tonight.
Cedarville (7-1) had 4 singles and jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. This would be the only scoring for either team until the fourth inning.
St. Joe's started the 4 th inning with a single by senior Kahler Dowling ( Augusta , ME ) and senior Helene Liaci ( Clifton , NJ ) reached on a walk. Dowling scored as sophomore Jamie Morrison ( Auburn , ME ) singled and stole second base. First year Deb Drown ( Gorham , ME ) drove Liaci in with a single.
Cedarville scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth with 2 singles, a double and Jessica Honeycutt homered to make it 8-2. The Lady Jackets extended their lead with two more runs in the fifth inning and the game ended due to the 8 run rule.
