Game 2

After equaling their longest winning streak of the season (3) with a win in game one, St. Joe's cruised to a fourth win in a row in a one-sided 11-4 victory over Newbury College (2-12).

Newbury came out swinging in the first inning and scored two quick runs but St. Joe's answered back in the bottom of the inning to go up 5-2. Senior captain Ally Ferguson (Sabattus, ME) walked to score Morton and Dowling hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Lee. Sophomore Tessa Grindle (Brooksville, ME) walked and Farrell scored on a passed ball. The final run of the inning was scored as sophomore Amanda Roy (Winslow, ME) singled to score Ferguson.

Ferguson singled in the second inning to score Liaci and in the fourth inning Lee doubled and was sent home on a Liaci triple. Ferguson reached on an error and Liaci scored.

Newbury showed signs of life in the fifth inning as freshman Alise Jacquet (Holliston, MA) went to third on a St. Joe's error and scored on a single by junior Ashley Challinor (Darien, CT). Singles by Morton, Liaci and Farrell would score Morton and make it 9-4 in the bottom of the fifth.

St. Joe's (10-15) scored two more runs in the sixth inning on a triple by Morton and a wild pitch.

Lee had three hits while Morton and Liaci both had two. Senior Ally Ferguson earned her fourth win of the season.
