NEWTON, MA - #2 seed Saint Joseph's (27-10, 18-6 GNAC) defeated
#4 Pine Manor College (21-19, 17-9), 7-3, in a GNAC Tournament
loser's bracket contest on Sunday afternoon. The result means St.
Joe's will play top-seeded Emerson College in a 1:00 PM title game,
while the Gators' season comes to a close with the loss. In order
to capture the championship, St. Joe's will have to beat the Lions,
undefeated in tourney play, twice.
The Lady Monks pounded out 15 hits in the must-win contest and
starter Christy Wezowicz '10
(Granville, MA) scattered six hits with two earned runs, one walk
and a pair of punch outs.
Anna Willis '10 (Gorham, ME)
paced the offense with a 3-4 effort to go with a run scored and two
RBI and Alysn Ludwig '09
(Waldoboro, ME) was 3-5 with a run and a swiped bag. Designated
hitter Ashley Geel '12 (St.
George, ME) went 2-4 with a double with two runs batted in and
Jillian Kimball '10 (Albany
Township, ME) was 2-4 with a run and an RBI in the triumph.

chipped in with two hits and two stolen bases for the Lady Monks.
