Softball to Host Coaches vs. Cancer Event this Sunday

STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College softball team will be hosting a 'Coaches vs. Cancer' event this Sunday when the Monks host conference-rival University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).

Coaches vs. Cancer is a national program led by our country's coaches in the most important game of all: beating cancer.

In most cases, colleges and universities around the country raise funds to support organizations, such as the American Cancer Society. In this case, all proceeds will be donated to a Saint Joseph's College Softball family who has a member in the midst of cancer treatments.

Donations will be accepted during both games and the team will be selling t-shirts in an effort to support the cause. Please contact Head Coach Jamie Smyth '93 at jsmyth@sjcme.edu for more information.

First pitch is slated for 12:00 PM at Richard W. Bailey Field.
