GNAC Softball Tournament Bracket Announced

WINTHROP, Mass. – Emmanuel College and Albertus Magnus College have cemented the top seeds in their respective 2022 divisions, with Emmanuel hosting the Saturday-Sunday portion of the 2022 GNAC Softball Tournament as host duties shift annually between the North and the South Division top seed. 

Emmanuel went 15-1 in GNAC play to claim the North top seed, while Albertus went 15-3 to narrowly best Johnson & Wales University in the South. Both top-seeded programs will host two contests on Thursday before all competition shifts to Emmanuel's Roberto Clemente Field in Boston for the weekend. Tuesday's first-round elimination round features #4N Rivier University traveling to #3N Saint Joseph's of Maine, while #3S University of Saint Joseph (CT) hosts #4S Regis College. 

The Riv/SJC winner will travel to Emmanuel to take on #2N Simmons University on Thursday. The Regis/USJ winner will travel to Albertus on Thursday to take on #2S Johnson & Wales.

As always, the GNAC champion will receive the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Second Round - Thursday, May 5 (double-elim begins)

Game 2: Winner of South play-in at #2S JWU (hosted by Albertus) - 2:00 PM
Game 3: Winner of Game 1 at #1N Emmanuel - 7:00 PM
Game 4: Winner of Game 2 at #1S Albertus - 4:00 PM

Semifinals- Saturday, May 7 (hosted by #1N Emmanuel)
Game 5: Loser of Game 4 vs. Loser of Game 1 - 9:30 AM (elimination game)
