Alpine Skiing Class of 2025 Announced

Alpine Skiing Class of 2025 Announced

STANDISH, Maine – Head Coach Margot Cosentino is pleased to announce the men's and women's alpine skiing Class of 2025.

Cosentino, who completed her third year as the Monks' leader last winter, is adding four seasoned skiers, hailing from four different states, as the Royal Blue look to build on an exceptional 2021 season.

As a second-year varsity program, the 2021 alpine ski team enjoyed phenomenal success as the women claimed the Reynolds Division Championship and the program was awarded a share of the Ricker Cup, which is bestowed annually upon the top combined men's and women's program in the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA) Reynolds Division.

The women won all seven events during the 2021 campaign and posted a total of 13 individual podium performances – including six top finishes – with rising sophomore Erica Irvin (Windham, N.H.) claiming four individual victories and junior Jillian Luby (Wolfeboro, N.H.) notching a pair of wins last winter.

The SJC men posted seven runner-up finishes last season and were led by rising sophomore Liam Strobeck (Charlotte, Vt.), who registered five individual podium performances with four wins and 480 total points – the second-highest total in the Reynolds Division – during the 2021 campaign.

"I'm very excited to welcome this year's class of student-athletes to our program," adds Coach Cosentino. "We have a diverse class that brings a lot of talent and experience to our team and I'm sure this group will leave a positive mark on SJC athletics. I'm excited to welcome everyone back to campus this fall!"
