CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College women's alpine ski team finished eighth with a 6:04.37 total time in the USCSA Eastern Regional Giant Slalom Championship at Sugarloaf Mountain on Saturday.
Vermont State University – Castleton placed four of the top five finishers and led the 16-team field with a 5:32.92 time, nearly nine seconds in front of runner-up Babson College, which notched a 5:41.84 effort. UMass.-Amherst (5:43.02) finished third, Northeastern University placed fourth (5:50.66), and Clarkson University (5:51.96) was fifth.
Castleton featured the top two individuals in today's race, as Petra Veljkovic topped the field with a 1:49.22 time and Emilie Stene placed right behind with a 1:49.47 performance. Clarkson's Elyse Donaghue rounded out the podium with a 1:50.49 performance.

- Junior Maddie Zordan (New Hartford, Conn.) placed 29th with a 1:59.98 (59.99, 59.99)
- Senior Erica Irvin (Windham, N.H.) was 38th (2:05.77, 1:01.86 / 1:01.86)
- Senior Maeghan Perkins (Turner, Maine) finished 45th (2:09.61, 1:05.42 / 1:04.19)
- Freshman Hannah Golden (Concord, N.H.) placed 46th (2:09.73, 1:04.93 / 1:04.80)
