NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Saint Joseph's College (17-7, 13-0 GNAC) defeated Norwich University (8-15, 2-11 GNAC), 58-49, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's basketball action on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Norwich held a 17-16 lead after shooting 63.6% (7-11) during the first quarter and built a team-high seven-point (26-19) advantage after Maren McGinn made a layup with 3:35 before the break. Saint Joseph's turned the tide with 12 unanswered points and headed into intermission with a 31-27 lead.
The Monks led for the remainder of play, though the Cadets cut their deficit down to two points on a pair of occasions during the third period. Saint Joseph's effectively quashed the hosts' rally when, leading 37-35 with 5:14 left in the third, senior Angelica Hurley (Groveland Mass.) netted seven points during an 11-0 outbreak that spanned nearly four minutes.

Saint Joseph's scored 33 points off 28 Norwich turnovers while the Cadets produced six points on 14 SJC miscues.
LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:
- Hurley led all players with 24 points and added five rebounds and two steals
- Sophomore Grace Ramsdell (Wells, Maine) added seven points and eight rebounds
- Senior Nina Howe (York, Maine) chipped in with six points, five assists, three boards, and two steals
- Sophomore Madison Lebel (Hermon, Maine) contributed six points, six caroms, and three steals
LEADERS – NORWICH:
- McGinn tallied 15 points and 13 rebounds while making 7-of-9 shots from the field
- Sage MacAuley netted 13 points with nine boards
- Haley Brewster added 11 points and nine rebounds
HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:
With the win Saint Joseph's improves to 18-6 all-time versus Norwich University and has now defeated the Cadets in 12-consecutive meetings.
