Willette Sets New Single-Season Records

STANDISH, MAINE - First-year Megan Willette (Waterville, ME) scored two of five SJC goals and assisted on two others as the Monks (8-5) cruised past New England College 5-0.

Willette set new SJC single-season records for points (43) and goals (19), breaking Kathy Britton's mark of 42 points and 17 goals set in 1991.

St. Joe's out shot NEC (5-7-1) by a margin of 15-8.

Senior Danielle McLaughlin (Skowhegan, ME) put St. Joe's on the board early, netting a pass from Willette just 8 seconds into the match. First year Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) proved she is back from an injury, scoring her ninth goal of the season off Willette's second assist at 17:24.

Jordan set up first year Heather Stanger (Rockport, MA) for a goal in the 29th minute to put St. Joe's up 3-0. Less than six minutes later, Willette scored to give the Monks a comfortable lead before half time.

Willette recorded her final goal of the match in the 70th minute. Junior Krista Wotherspoon (New Gloucester, ME) earned her fourth win of the season, posting 8 saves.
